The All-New Jeep Grand Cherokee L Review - What to Expect
Posted on June 24, 2021
The new 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is out, and it is an exciting ride full of perks that drivers will enjoy. It offers a full three rows of seating bundled into a comfortable SUV. This new L trim will expand the Grand Cherokee family. It is not only a great family-size ride but has plenty of off-road capabilities. Let's take a closer look.
The 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is a rear-drive-based unibody SUV that will comfortably seat six or seven passengers. You can select from captain's chairs in the second row or a bench seat, depending on if you want to carry seven people.
The design is attractive with a seven-slot grille and wheel arches that are designed in a trapezoidal shape. The front fascia is larger, with attractive LED headlights and taillights that are slimmer in design. Also, the body-mounted exhaust tips are the real thing, and the 21-inch wheels have body-colour wheel openings.
The top-end Summit has all the bells and whistles including 360-degree cameras with washers, a night vision camera, and a gaggle of sensors in the detailed grille for driver-assist technologies such as adaptive cruise control. Once you slip inside, you'll notice the upscale materials used within. From the leather seats to the suede-like headliner to the real walnut and oak wood trim, you will be impressed by the quality materials. Not only are the materials elegant, but comfort is a priority. The front seat massage and the first two rows of seats are heated, recline, and offer ventilation.
When it comes to the engines, you'll have two from which to choose. The Pentastar 3.6-liter V-6 delivers 290 hp and 257 lb.-ft. of torque, or you can select a Hemi 5.7-liter V-8, which delivers 357 hp and 390 lb.-ft. Both are paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission and have the powerful towing ability.
The technology in the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee L is upgraded to include the Uconnect 5 system that integrates with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. You can view your apps, music, and more on an 8.4-inch center screen. If you want, you can upgrade to a full-colour 10.1-inch frameless screen.
Safety is also an important feature of the Grand Cherokee L. Some of the technology include:
- Active driving assist systems
- Drowsy driver detection
- Parking assist
- Digital rearview mirror
- Traffic sign recognition
- Adaptive cruise control
- Blindspot detection
- Lane departure warning
- Collision warning
- Rear cross-path detection
