Main Upgrades From the Previous Year

The new lineup comes with improved safety features, and also more standard features. All models this year got four types of airbags for the front seats, against only one in the previous year.

Now, there are supplemental airbags in the front and on the side curtains. There’s also an advanced multistage airbag for the driver’s seat. Interior and exterior features, and engines have changed little from the previous version.

Interior Layout and Options

There’s a lot of interior space in the new RAM 1500 Classic, following a tradition of spacious designs. There are two options for seat covers: cloth and heavy-duty vinyl. All trims have floor mats, air conditioning, and an armrest with three cup holders for the front seats.

The SLT and the Warlock models come with passenger-side sun visors with mirrors, and also temperature and compass displays. Some features are exclusive to the flagship model, Warlock. Those include a leather-wrapped steering wheel and door trim panels with map pockets.

Exterior Layout and Options

The robust exterior design has 17-inch wheels for entry-level trims, and 20-inch wheels for the Night Edition and the Warlock. All models have centre high-mounted stop lamps, and also cargo lamps.

Trims above the Express have body-coloured rear bumpers, while the Tradesman and the SLT trims have black and chrome bumpers, respectively. All models have 6x9-inch heated exterior mirrors, black door handles, and automatic quad halogen headlamps. The flagship model adds black bezels to this feature.

Technology, Infotainment, and Connectivity

Most models in this lineup have an Uconnect 3 multimedia system with a 5.0-inch touchscreen display. The exceptions are the Express (Radio 3.0 with six speakers) and the Night Edition, with Uconnect 4, an 8.4-inch touchscreen display, and also six speakers. All models, except for the Warlock, come with a 3.5-inch Electronic Vehicle Information Centre (EVIC). The Warlock has a 7.0-inch colour customizable display.

Safety and Driver-Assistant Features

The RAM 1500 Classic is also a superb pickup truck when it comes to safety features. Most of those features are standard for the whole lineup. It means you’ll have plenty of useful driving assistants and other safety features.

Apart from airbags for the front seats, all models come with Electronic Stability Control (ESC), which includes trailer sway and traction controls, hill start assist, rain brake support, electronic roll mitigation, and ready alert braking. There’s also a ParkView rear backup camera, and the flagship model adds ParkSense to the parking aid tools.
