What’s New for 2023?
The new lineup has a more powerful engine, which also delivers more fuel efficiency thanks to its Engine Start/Stop (ESS) system. The 2023 Compass is the SUV with the most torque capacity in the market, with 221 ft-lb, and the most horsepower, with 200 hp. The flagship model, Trailhawk, has a Jeep Active Drive Low 4x4 system standard; the other trims have a Jeep Active 4x4.
Interior Layout and Options
Jeeps are famous for their comfort and interior space, and the new Compass doesn’t break the chain. Front seats have 1,046 mm of legroom and 995 mm of headroom, while the back seats have 973 mm and 978 mm, respectively. When the back seats are folded, the cargo capacity is 1,700L.
Exterior Layout and Options
The new Compass comes with an impressive lighting system. The Trailhawk and Limited have premium LED projector headlamps, tail lamps, and fog lamps, which are also available for the North model. LED reflector headlamps are standard for all trims. There’s an automatic high-beam headlamp control for the North and upper trims.
You can choose between seven colours for this lineup: granite crystal, laser blue pearl, bright white, diamond black, redline red, billet silver, and sting grey. The Trailhawk comes with standard painted gloss black wheels, while the North and Sport models have new 17-inch wheels standard.
Technology, Infotainment, and Connectivity
This lineup comes with the Uconnect 5 infotainment system, which has more memory, better resolution, and a faster processor. There are two touchscreen displays available. You can control this system via a 10.1-inch touchscreen display, and there’s a 10.25-inch frameless TFT digital cluster for all models. Other common features for all trims include mobile compatibility (Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) and a wireless charging pad.
Safety and Driver-Assistant Features
The new Compass is one of the safest vehicles in its class, packing over 80 safety features in the lineup. One of the main features is the semi-autonomous driving system, Highway Assist. All models come with a 360-degree camera, with parallel and perpendicular parking assistants.
Standard features include traffic sign recognition, full-speed forward collision warning (with active braking), active lane management, drowsy driver detection, and hill-descent control. There’s also automatic emergency braking for pedestrians and cyclists.
