Main Upgrades From the Previous Year
The new version of the classic Cherokee brings a few updates on its only two models: Trailhawk and Altitude. Those models received an 8.4-inch touchscreen display, equipped with a Uconnect NAV system, and SiriusXM Radio.
Safety features like blind-spot monitoring and lane departure warning are now standard for those choosing one of the two models. Also, the new Trailhawk comes with Nappa leather upholstery, automatic headlamps, and 17-inch black wheels. The new engines provide more power and better fuel efficiency.
Interior Layout and Options
There’s only one interior colour available for the entire lineup: black. There are Nappa leather seats as standard for the Trailhawk, and optional for the Altitude. Both models have a lot of space for all passengers. It’s a small SUV, with only two rows of seats. The backseats are foldable for extended cargo capacity.
Exterior Layout and Options
The front design has been updated, with a new hood, front fascia, fog lamps, daytime running lamps, and LED headlamps. There are also front bi-LED projector headlamps with Cherokee’s signature design. The Cherokee’s classic waterfall grille design has been changed, with a lightweight aluminum hood.
All models come with a hands-free lightweight liftgate. There are five exterior colours available for both models: Bright White, Diamond Black Crystal, Granite Crystal, Hydro-Blue, and Sting-Grey.
Technology, Infotainment, and Connectivity
The Uconnect 4C is the standard infotainment system for this lineup, and also has mobile compatibility (Android Auto and Apple CarPlay). Both models also have Jeep Skill for Amazon Alexa, and a 4G Wi-Fi hotspot.
Safety and Driver-Assistant Features
The new Cherokee lineup has over 80 safety features incorporated into it as standard. Indeed, it’s one of the Jeep’s safest models so far. New standard features include forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control (with stop & go), rear cross-path detection, and front and rear park assists. There’s also a parallel and perpendicular park assist as standard.
